set equal since both equal y anwway x+4=y=-2x-2 x+4=-2x-2 add 2x both sides 3x+4=-2 minus 4 both sides 3x=-6 divide 3 x=-2 sub back y=x+4 y=-2+4 y=2 x=-2 y=2 (x,y) (-2,2)
