The pyramids were important to the Egyptians because they were tombs for their kings or rulers. Hope this helps :)

Pyramids were used as tomb stones for pharaohs and the upper class, the pyramids were also stored with the pharaoh's belonging and food/ water because it was thought that they would need them for their journey to the afterlife.
