Jazz music spread throughout the US. During the Great Migration most of the African Americans moved up north from the south because of the discrimination in the area. Aside from this, the North also offered a better chance of high paying jobs and good paying factory industries that led the migration. African Americans brought with them their culture and it flourished in the South Side Community of Chicago where Jazz became rampant. This then paved the way for Chicago to be known as “The Stroll,” a community that attracted many musicians and jazz talents all over the US.
