The biggest effect of the plant life on the atmosphere is that plants need carbon dioxide for the process of photosynthesis, and they produce oxygen during this process -quite the opposite of the effect that the humans have! so the correct answer is: b. A decrease in plant life would cause carbon dioxide levels to increase and oxygen levels to decrease.
