The area of a triangle is A = 1/2(b)(h)  All we have to do is to plug in what they give us and solve for the unknown. 24 = 1/2(b)(4)        combine like terms...1/2 and 4 24 = b2                  divide by 2 12 = base              this would be the legth of the base
