well, first off...solve the given problem. 32 + 20 is 52. so, what we want to do is set 52 equal to 20 and 30's GCF (greatest common factor) and 2 other numbers added together. bascially, what's the largest number that I cN factor out of both 32 and 20? well, I can factor out a 2. 32 + 20 = 52 2 (16 + 10) = 52 16 and 10 both are even, so I can take out another 2. 2 (2) ( 8 + 5) = 52 do 8 and five share any other factors? nope! so that means 4 is their GCF. And don't we have the GCF multiplied by the sum of two numbers? 4 (8 + 5) = 52 so that's it! they just wanted you to rewrite it a bit. let me know if that makes sense!
