x = -6, 3. This is because the quadratic formula is x = -__(sorry, I forgot the variable) ± the root of that same variable squared - __ (another number). I know this is confusing, but just stick with me. Plugging those numbers into the equation, we get x = -3 ± the root of 9 + 72. 9 + 72= 81, therefore -3 ± the square of 81 = -3 ± 9. So, x = -6, 3.
