Each offspring will receive one allele from each parent, so the cross will be Yy with yy, resulting in four possible offspring: Yy, Yy, yy, and yy. Since Y is dominant to y, there will be two yellow for every four offspring or the ratio of 1/2 (Look up Punnet squares to understand this concept better)
