surface are is 3 pairs of sides the sides areas are LW and LH and LW so SA=2(LW+LH+LW) for a rectangular prism base is 8 by 5=40 cm^2 width would be the shorter one so 5 cm height is 7 cm volume=7*8*5=280 cm^3 SA=2(LW+LH+WH)=2(8*5+8*7+5*7)=2(40+56+35)= 2(131)= 262 cm^2
