You can solve it but nit using substitution/simultaneously. The reason is, the purpose of simultaneous equations is to solve two different equations at the same time, in your case you are just solving 1 equation. So all you need to do is take everything to the RHS and solve for X.
1. Subtract 2x from both sides: 3x+7-2x=-10 2. Simplify 3x+7-2x to x+7x+7=-10 3. Subtract 7 from both sidesx=-10-7 4. Simplify -10-7 to −17x=-17
