how did the differences between the north and south lead to the civil war?

The North part of the U.S was much more industrial then the South. The South had more plantations, a huge farm where slaves were forced to work there. The North already abolished slavery, making slavery illegal. When Abraham Lincoln was elected president (he was a abolitionist), people in the South were scared that slavery would be abolished.
