A chromosome deletion occurs when a chromosomal fragment is lost. Thus the chromosome is missing some genes. One example of this in humans is know as cry of the cat. It occurs from a deletion on a chromosome number 5. A child that is born has a mental disability a small head with unusual facial features and cries like the sound of a distressed cat. The children rarely live into adulthood. I hope this help
