Each boy in a class has 7 pockets and each girl in that class has 11 pockets. How many boys and how many girls are there in this class if there are 147 pockets and 17 heads? HELP IN 5 MINUTES!!!!!

let the no. of boys be x and no. of girls be y. According to Question 7x+11y=147-----(1 equation) and x+y=17-----(2 equation) multiply  the 2 equation by 7 7x+7y=119 subtract the second equation from first 4y=28 y=7 put the result in second equation x+y=17 x+7=17 x=17-7 x=10 hope that helped
