equation of a line: y=mx+c  where m=gradient, c= y-intercept Substitute in the gradient y=(5/7)x+c To find c, substitute in the co-ordinates given. x=8, y=-5 -5=(5/7)8+c c=-75/7 Therefore the equation of the line is; y=(5/7)x - (75/7)
