SEMINAR ON ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY OF THE EU FOR CANDIDATE AND POTENTIAL CANDIDATE TO THE EU
The access to the seminar is restricted to civil servants from candidate and potential candidates countries to the EU. Project financed by AECID
The main objective of the seminar is to foster the administrative capacities and facilitate the transfer of knowledge and good practices with regards to environmental policies in the context of the EU normative and requirements for this sector. The seminar will introduce the participants to the specificities of the EU Environmental Policy, while offering practical examples of the Spanish experience in the management of communitarian funding dedicated to environmental related projects. Infrastructures, renewable energy, local development, cross-border cooperation, human resources, all these will be issues to be tackled during the seminar, either in the framework of the lectures or during the different workshops where the participants are welcome to get actively involved.
The seminar will take place in Madrid and Barcelona and will comprise several main sections dealing respectively with the institutions, proceedings and policies in place at EU and Spanish level in the environmental field; the implementation of the EU environmental programs, and finally the management of European funding in this sector.
PARTICIPANTS
The seminar is aimed at civil servants from all levels of government coming from candidate countries candidates (Turkey, Croatia, Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia - FYROM) and potential candidate countries (Albania, Bosnia – Herzegovina, Montenegro and Serbia) During the seminar the participants are expected to prepare and present brief overviews of the evolution and present situation in their country regarding of the general topic of the seminar. Further details on the format and submission procedure will be provided to the selected participants in due time All expenses related to training, return travel from the country of origin, accommodation and maintenance, as well as the expenses related to the study and cultural visits are fully covered by the organizers. The working language of the seminar and the related activities is English.
